Team Relay Competition – Live Music – Food – T-Shirts – Prizes

The First Annual Rio Relays will be held on Saturday April 21^st from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on the Rio Americano High School track.  Rio Relays is a team relay event where teams from the school and the community will compete to earn prizes and generate donations. Proceeds will go toward the building of a new all-weather track through the American River Sports Association (ARSA) as part of Rio’s Field of Dreams project. Rio Relays promises to be a fun day for Rio students, family, alumni and friends with live music from award-winning Rio bands, food from the new snack bar, commemorative t-shirts and fun prizes.

Race Details

What: Fun Team Relay Competition. Relay teams consist of 10 runners. Relays include competitive in 10x100 meter races and fun divisions in 10x40 meters! Track team will run an all-day 50 mile relay for donations per mile. Fun field events are also planned.

When: Saturday, April 21, 2007 - 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Rain or Shine!

Team Divisions: Rio Clubs, Rio Sports, Freshmen/Sophomores/Juniors/Seniors, Faculty, Alumni, Future Rio Raiders (Middle School Division), Parents and “Community” teams.

Registration: $15 per team member ($150 min. per team) All registered participants receive a commemorative Rio Relays logo t-shirt. 

Awards: We will recognize the top 3 teams in each division. Winning teams earn valuable gift certificates. Winning Club team wins the coveted Rio Club Cup trophy.
